LEADER (Liason Entre Actions pour le D\u00e9veloppement de L'Economie Rurale) is an abbreviation of the words translated into Turkish as 'Links Between Activities for the Development of the Rural Economy'. This approach first emerged in the EU in 1991 and has become an integral part of rural development policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
LEADER promotes innovative solutions for rural problems and plays an important role in meeting the needs of local communities. It also means that local actors participate in decision-making processes regarding the projects to be implemented in their regions and the strategy to be realized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
LEADER The overall aim of the measure is to implement the bottom-up local development strategies developed by Local Action Groups (LAGs) based on the LEADER approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The LEADER Measure aims to improve the living conditions, develop civil society, facilitate good governance, support employment, develop human resources and increase the satisfaction of those living in rural areas by ensuring the participation of the local community in the rural development process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c2007-2013 EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance Rural Development\u201d funded by the EU and the Republic of Turkey for the implementation of the LEADER Measure in Turkey. (IPARD) <\/strong>--<\/p>\n\n\n\n Capacity building activities were initiated in 12 provinces, including Denizli, in 2015, and Local Action Groups were established in certain districts in order to ensure that the LEADER Measure is learned, to encourage the establishment of potential local action groups and the preparation of development strategies at the local level, and to be ready for the implementation of the measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For the implementation of the LEADER Measure, a local development strategy is first prepared and the appropriateness of this strategy is observed.
